On October 18 a coachload of children and adults from Acre Mill traveled to
Liverpool to take part in the Northwest CE Annual Celebration at Dingle Mount Church.
The day included a trip on the Mersey Ferry and a celebration service in the evening in which our kids took part and received awards
for this year's competition.
We had a great time.
Elizabeth had time on the journey to make some interesting
new discoveries in the depths of her handbag.
Dingle Mount Church was founded by the Liverpool City Mission over 100 years
ago but the building they have was built in the 1970's.
When we got there everyone was hungry and we had a bit of a wait for our fish
and chips to arrive. But we managed to keep cheerful.
Katie decided to corner all the bread without any
of the girls noticing.
And we waited.... patiently (but notice Jean's fingers drumming
on the table).
And We waited......
Until, at last.......
What's that, Lewis? Ummm, I think its the longest chip in the world, May.
And a cup of tea solves a lot of problems.
The ferry trip was great - especially for
experienced sailors
And just in case we fell overboard the lifebuoys had our address on them.
Some of us tried to look cool and not show that we had been seasick 35 times.
While others just didn't want to be noticed at all.
Is it, could it be? Is it really Paul McCartney and Cilla Black?
Sorry, it's a massive aircraft carrier called the Intrepid brought here just for us.
Meanwhile, in the china shop Doreen and Lilly debate the merits of various teapots in making a gradely brew.
