We acelebrate the 140th anniversary of the founding of our church
as a 'Sunday School Chapel' by the congregation at Zion Baptist Bacup. The original building
cost £1000, half of which had already been raised by the time of the opening in October 1871.
By 1889, an independent congregation was formed with the encouragement and support of the founding church.

Cleaning Up
Where is this beautiful scene? The Lake District? Yorkshire Dales? Peak District?
No, it's the River Irwell at Shade End (or should it be Shed End?)
Volunteers from Acre Mill and Waterbarn joined with the Stacksteads Countryside Park Group to clean up
the river and the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) with the help of a grant from the
Mersey Basin Campaign

Please remember in your prayers the ongoing work with the young people who use the MUGA and
the shelter at Moss Meadow.
They were built in 2006 by the Stacksteads Riverside Park Group
and are a great resource for Stacksteads.

The most memorable were the 'Introductions' (where several people claimed to have met the world-famous celebrity, Tom Housby)
